Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney, London. Pours rich brown with a frothy, off-white cap. Excellent balance here; that’s what really sets it apart. Great smoked malt character. Good dark malt foundation. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Lingering beechwood smoke in the finish. Outstanding.

Cask at the Cock, 14/01/14. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized light tan coverage of bubbles. Nose is smoked malt, damp mulch a la garden centew, woody twang, earthy cocoa. Taste comprises rich smoked malt, peat, toffee fudge, dark chocolate. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, smokey tones in the finish. Nice smoked porter, great smoked wood effect, nice balance.
