Bottle. Dram Shop, Sheffield. Medium gold. Light haze. Skim and ring of white head. Nose has rye like spicy malt. Some ginger. Pine needle. Taste has gingery spice. Woody and earthy. Fairly dry, overall. Bit of a cloying mouthfeel, though, feeling sticky and a bit dull. Some gingery spice to finish. It’s a bit like drinking a 6% ginger beer.

Cask at the Rake, 28/12/13. Clear golden amber with a thin off white covering that dissipates to edgework. Nose is sprucey wood, herbal qualities, bitter orange, light spice, hay, pineapple chunks, melon. Taste comprises orange pith, light caramel, straw, bitter orange, spice, wood shavings. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with light bitterness. Decent enough for style.

Hazy amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is crispy and dry. Dry semi sweet malt. Something that tastes like mellow ginger. Smooth dry pine. A little spice. Very dry finish. Light bitter linger. Not a bad crimbo beer but flipping dry!
