Brewed for Theydon_Bois wedding with Sue (07/09/13). Siren’s Half Mast is the base beer for this sessionable number. The goal was to create a beer with flavour, balance and body at only 2.7%, a Quarter IPA, QIPA if you will. Heavily hopped but with low bitterness this beer pops with notes of mango and grapefruit and is the perfect summer beer. Oak chips soaked in Tanqueray Export Gin have been added to the cask to add a little twist.

Cask at the wedding celebration of Theydon-Bois. Somewhere outside London. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Nice orange notes throughout, mild bitterness, some grapefruit and mango, mild wood accents. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good finish, lightly resinous with pine and further notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Excellent low-ABV offering. Very nice.

The Half Moon, Windlesham. Colin and Sue’s Wedding. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, little white head. Palate is light and crispy, nice condition. Good tangy citrus marmalade. Touch of grapefruit. Really well integtated gin. Finishes crispy dry. Really like the gin spicing up the citric hops. Very drinkable.

Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham 07/09/13, my wedding day. Lightly hazed golden orange with a good sized off white head that eventually thins to a covering. Nose is juicy hops, mango, apricot jam, light pine, grapefruit. Taste comprises light juicy hops, light mineral notes, orange pith, mango, fleshy grapefruit, hint of gin. Light end of medium body, soft carbonation, hop bittermess in the finale. Super drinkable stuff, not at all thin, packed with flavour. Having had the base version adding the gin certainly pumped something else into this one, Great stuff Ryan!
