Together with our friends at beavertown, we’ve taken the building blocks of their gamma ray apa and brewed a lager with them, throwing in a few extra hops for fun.
This unholy mash-up is all about collaboration. It’s Hells Lager with a gamma ray fired at it or Gamma Ray as a helluva lager.

Bottle at home, thanks to LKS for picking this one up. Mostly clear yellow / golden coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is really nice and clean with soft and squishy tropical fruits, bit of mango, orange rind, clean lager ferment. Flavour is clean pils grains, firm citrus hop, bit of mango, lemon. Palate is semi-sweet, finish is somewhat dry, but could do with being a little bit crisp. Lingering bitter lemon and cereal. Really tasty beer.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thin white head that holds well. Low carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of mango, cereal and lemon. Flavour is definitely hoppier than most Lagers - notes of orange, grass, herbs and lemon. Dry finish. Medium body with a soft fizz. Zippy and dry. Nice.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Beavertown. Pours perfectly clear, bright gold, effervescent, with a frothy white head. Lovely aroma, bursting with citrusy hops a la Gamma Ray, with background biscuits, hay, rind. Light-medium sweet flavor with some grainy pale bread, tangerine, lemon rind, white bread, mild pine needles, a bit of candied orange peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with mild grassy bitterness, lots more juicy and citrusy hops, tangerine, grapefruit, more biscuity pale malts. Great stuff, although I don’t think it’s better than either one of its constituent parts.

Bottle picked up at Beer Gonzo. It pours lightly hazy gold with a thick white head. The nose is fresh, orange sherbet, lime, bready malt, grassy and light spice. The taste is crisp, bitter, floral, grassy, orange, grapefruit rind and light pepper with a refreshingly dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Great combination. Massively drinkable stuff.
