Keg at CBC Clerkenwell, London during the Birthday Celebration of Jack & Leighton. Pours clear, red-brown with a fine, tan cream head. Lots of rich, sugary coffee in the nose, some dark toast, earth. Medium sweet flavor with hefty coffee character, dark bread, dark chocolate, moderate earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly earthy bitter finish with coffee grounds, sweet dark chocolate, touches of espresso. Rich. Good stuff.

Tap at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, 13/04/13. Mid black with a very thin tan head. Nose is rich coffee beans, dark chocolate, roast malt, molasses. Taste comprises coffee cake, brown sugars, chocolate, roast malt. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, sweetish finish. Decent enough stuff, I’m a lover of coffee beers, let down a little by being too sweet.

Keg at CBC, Clerkenwell. It pours near black with a tiny white head. The nose is rich-roasted, espresso, coffee liqueur, burnt caramel, treacle and cocoa. The taste is all about the coffee, roasted malt, light acidity, toast, earth, treacle, touch of liquorice and light alcohol with a bitter finish. Medium body and fine/low carbonation. Not a whole depth of flavour going on, this is dominated by coffee. Still an enjoyable beverage (for a coffee lover anyway!).
