Sofa Surfer is a beer full of new ideas. A chance for us to trial a couple of new techniques; sharing the knowledge of other brewers who have similar ideas...
In the brew we tried increasing our mash temperature - the highest we have ever taken it. This beer also has the highest final pH of any beer we have ever made. Different water treatment techniques were implemented as well. The aim was to produce a very smooth beer with a full mouthfeel, by focusing on water and brewing procedures.
Double dry hopped with Vic Secret (Australian Hop) & Ekuanot (US).
50kg of hops were used in the dry hop - a huge hop bill to give layer upon layer of citrus & tropical fruit flavour.

Can. Cloudy gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin dry malts bring a minimum amount of sweetness. Bitter yellow grapefruit hops, spicy too. Bitter orange peel. Light dry finish. Long bitter linger. Quite sharp edged and a trifle dry but it's not pissing me off.

Keg at Cotteridge Wines Tasting Room; hazy yellow pour with thin white head, aroma has tangerine, taste has lemon, bitter grapefruit, quite astringent, ok.
