Pioneer is an English take on an American style Pilsner. Its blend of 3 malts produce a full-bodied beer with just a hint of sweetness, and combined with 3 of the finest English hops, creates a refreshing fruity bitterness on the palate. Left to mature for a minimum of 4 weeks for balanced flavours, Pioneer is then dry-hopped, which maximises its punchy mix of spicy citrus notes and cedar tree aromas. A beer with English, Continental and American influences all in one.

Tap at the Windsor Castle, Lye. Poured a clear light yellow colour with a thin white head. The aroma is hoppy and resinous. The flavour is weak bitter acidic resinous. As far as lagers go this is somewhat different and rather drinkable.

330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Featureless aroma. Taste is pale malty, chalky, a grainy touch, minimally floral, bitter hoppy overtones which remain solely in the finish.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is maize, some earth, grass, grains and mild floral notes as well. Flavour is quite similar with some mild rubbery and citrusy notes as well. Not that good, and actually feels a bit unclean as for the rubbery notes. Also being quite watery.

Keg at the Jekyll & Hyde, Birmingham. Pours gold with a medium head. Aroma is corn and grass. Taste is sweet with grass and a little lime. Better than a macro, but nothing spectacular.
