Cask at the Pembury Tavern - London. Pours deep brown with a creamy, beige head. Good milk chocolate aroma, some roast, earth. Medium sweet flavour with really tasty well toasted bread, baking cocoa, more earthy bitterness, bent caramel, toasted biscuits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; great condition. Very well balanced on the finish, with a really rich and rounded hi plate malt character, more toasty biscuit, subtly scorched earth, faint leather. Excellent mid-ABV cask stout.

Gravity cask at the 2016 Cambridge Beer Festival. Dark brown, barely translucent. The tiniest amount of tan head. Coffee and malt dominate the aroma. Taste starts sweet with a liquorice note, but the hoppy bitter takes over to the finish, which kind of sits bitterly in the throat. Very thin body for a stout. Not perfect but an enjoyable beer.
