Bottle at home from the Wine Society. A good pour with a reasonable head from the bottle conditioning. There was a certain spicy aroma to the beer that made me nervous. The flavour was plain unpleasant. There was a slightly sour and very intrusive farmyard flavour that really did nothing for me and it dominated the whole profile. Yuck! It was close to its BBD so that is one possible reason for the flavour, the other is it was made to taste like that which I find bizarre. I should have tipped it away, but I persevered and rewarded myself with a glass of Cotswold single malt which was much better.

Bottle from the Blue Glass, Bedford. Golden and a trifle hazy with quite a bit of visible carbonation. Some nice tangerine notes along with a malty base in the aroma. There’s a harsh raw grain taste which is mollified by the sweet citrus notes around the edges of the flavour. Orange juice in the finish. Watery body. Not excellent but certainly refreshing.
