375 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate head. Aromas of paint and oaked white wine. Light flavors of sour white wine and black coffee. Dry and watery. WTF? Not something I would expect from Mikkeller. Pass.

375mL bottle, pours black with a medium-large tan head. Nose brings out dry red wine notes, and some residual dry roast from the base beer. Flavour isn't so massively influenced by the sauternes barrels, offering just a hint of red wine, moderate dry roast, and maybe a touch of lactose sugar. Quite muffled, just like the Grand Marnier version - and again, what is up with barrel aging a 4% stout - makes no sense to me. Not very interesting, but easy enough to drink.

17.01.2014, 0,375l bottle @ home:
Big slightly bubbly mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, dark malts, unripe banana, spices, chocolate, coffee, dark sugar, oak, soap. Taste is kind of dry soapy, dark malts, hay, roasted grain, soap, oak, chocolate, coffee. Medium bitterness, dry soapy mouthfeel. Boring and disappointing.
