Pour is a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is a nutty and chocolate malt. Not a huge aroma. Flavor is some mild caramel and earthy malt. Just like the aroma not a huge flavor. Kind of going in the right direction but this lacks some oomph. Double the ingredients used and you may have something here.

Pretty terrible ESB, lacking both the fruity funk of English yeast and any discernible American hop stupidity. Looks like a cask ale, tastes like a mild, slightly nutty golden ale, and the finish seems lost. In dire need of a continent to call its own.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear gold with a white foam crown. Great balance, with pleasant sweet, bready malts, nuts, mellow leafy hop bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with notes of lightly toasted bread, faint earth. Good one. Very, very drinkable.

Bottle. Brown body with a frothy, off-white head. Malty aroma of caramel, dusty grain, nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Very little hop flavor. Its heavy-handed malt flavors and sweetness take this beer to someplace nowhere close to an ESB. Style aside, the flavor is jumbled and the mouthfeel is dusty grain, dirty.
