Bottle from Tebay Services, shared with my bro. It pours hazy deep / dark mahogany brown with a small white head. The aroma is rich, sweet, toothy, toffee, sultana, fruit cake, figgy pudding, toased brown sugar, wood and leather. The taste is slick, oily, drying, toothy, umami, slightly oxidised, meaty malts, bitter - sweet, salty, burnt toast, toffee, brown bread, wood, tannin, leather and boozy warmth with a drying finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. A big toothy beast of a beer. Has aged fairly well. Decent.

330ml bottle online from the brewery, Pours opaque very dark brown with a cream coloured head. Aroma: caramel, molasses, candy sugar, alcohol. Taste: moderate sweet, heavy malty, caramel, liquorice, light spices, all dominated by big boozy notes. Medium to heavy body, soft carb, semi dry close. Not sure why I hung on to this for so long, it's not very drinkable, much too boozy

Very oxidised loads of cedar; very thin and not very enjoyable.

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - close to opaque black with a thin head. Very cola like. Nose - molasses and candy sugar. Booze. Taste - tobacco, tar and savoury liquorice. Palate - rich and full bodied. Dry and tangy middle section. Sweet but tangy finish. Overall - it’s rich and full flavoured hut isn’t particularly drinkable.
