Orangey-amber colour. The aroma of this abbey single is peppery, bubblegummy and slightly phenolic with a hint of apricot and caramelized sugar. The flavour is sweet, slightly phenolic, with hints of pear and apricot. There is perhaps a faint caramel or toast note. Body is soft, with a hint of acidity in the finish. Made with Westmalle yeast, but the Westmalle Extra is a hop-oriented brew whereas this is a malty-yeasty interpretation.
