Poured up at GABF 2012 with a clear gold body (lighter in color than the non oak aged) that supports an off white head. It seems to have muted aromatics as compared to the non oak aged version where I get a little bit of dark fruity esters, a touch of pepper and banana and then at the end of the draw it grows into sweeter vanilla notes. The taste is similar where the oak aging has smoothed out the brighter notes and muted the esters that are sort of apples and pears and bananas going on in there. It seems the slight pepperiness of the other version is gone altogether but it leaves behind a smooth sweet vanilla note and sweet maltiness.

Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Dark amber color with a medium thick off-white head and patchy lacing. Aroma of caramel malt and oak. Medium body with flavors of sweet toffee, oak and dark fruit. The finish is malty with some oak and yeast in the aftertaste. Above average overall.
