330ml can from Pardoen, Rotterdam. Poured almost black in colour with a thin off-white head. The aroma is roasty, ash, molasses. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, ashtray, light smokey, chocolate, coffee, light caramel, liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. A good old skool Porter.

330ml can. Quasi black colour with average to huge, thick, dense, firm, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, brown head. Mildly roasty, chocolately, dark malty, slightly caramel malty and smoky, aroma, hints of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, some coffee, dark caramel, smoked wood, toffee, a touch of leather, peat. Taste is roasty, minimally chocolately, dark malty, smoky and caramel malty, mildly bitter hoppy and minimally bitter roasty, subtle residual sweetness, notes of smoked wood, dark caramel, a touch of burnt caramel, toffee, barbecue; in the finish additionally minimally fruity with a touch of bacon-wrapped smoked plum, blueberry.
Oily-watery texture, smooth, minimally greasy, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Very nice composition, multifacetted, intense, balanced on a high level - pretty good.

Can @ De Kromme Haring, Utrecht. Black with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and heavy smoked wood. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Oily and soft. 160425

Can at home from Sliterij de Laat. Deep brown pour with a tan head. Nose is smoked malts, bacon, toffee, maple. Taste is bacon, dark sugars, bread. Bodywise a tad lacking, the finish is watery, the body is light to medium. Pleasant, with a bigger body it'd be even better.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Pitch black colour, small brown foamy head. Aroma is smoked wet wooden tones with some chocolate, roasted malts and some slight BBQed meaty tones. Flavour is smoked wet wooden tones, mild tobacco, some chocolate, roasted malts and mild sweet malty tones too. Nice wooden and smoked long aftertaste.

--Canned, from De Bierverteller, Utrecht. -- Black, beige head. Smokey, peaty nose with licorice and tobacco. Mod sweet with near full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Fudge and peat, licorice and tobacco. Long bitter finish.
