Bottle thanks to Niall. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is bitter-sweet, roasty, salted caramel, liquorice, dark chocolate and toast. The taste is bitter, roasts, earth, coffee, mild acidity, dark chocolate, earth and charred wood with a dry finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Very smooth indeed, unlike Ben H... All in all a rather tasty beer.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours red-brown with a bubbly beige head. The nose has sugary bread, some cocoa, toffee, dark fruit. Medium sweet flavor with creamy dark malts, strawberry ice cream, figs, chocolate, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with toasted sugars, rich bread, toasty toffee, dark fruits, some berries, more chocolate. Very nice. Well balanced, good depth. Very drinkable.

33cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque black with a coffee like crema head. Nose - dark chocolate with toffee and a touch of earthy smoke. Taste - more dark chocolate and earthiness with a big toffee backdrop. Somesweet lliquorice edge to it too. Palate - full bodied with a creamy yet chewy texture and a long elegant finish. Overall - a truly complex imperial stout which has several layers of aroma and flavour. Power with precise restraint.

330ml bottle from Cornelius. Pours black, no head. Aromas of molasses, liquorice, light smoke, coffee and chocolate. Lots going on. Taste is cooked sugar, light spice, more light smoke. Medium body and very drinkable. Lovely.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Black body with a thick beige head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of ash, Cadbury’s Crunchy, prunes and dark chocolate. Flavour of chocolate, toffee, raisins and espresso. Bitter, ashy finish. Full body with a smooth, luscious mouthfeel. Faint prickle of carbonation. A rich but incredibly drinkable Imperial Stout.

Bottle at home. Pours thick black, little head, aroma of smoked sausage, light chocolate, taste is rich chocolate, sweet, light smoke, dry roast malts, too drinkable for the ABV!
