Bottle, mail order from the brewery. Bottled 11 days ago. Clear golden color with a tall, bubbly head. Nose is some fresh melon, ripe pears. Very fruity and not at all what I expected. Sweet, biscuity, stewed pears, maybe some diacetyl. Very sweet and not very well balanced. Prickly, peppery finish almost evens things out. Quite intensely bitter. Grassy and herbal fresh hops, a bit vegetal too. Enjoyable enough, but kind of all over the place.

Part of this year’s Baeren Fall set’s October release: Baeren Trad Gold Pilsner No. 2 Centennial 4.5% Beautiful looking gold with a mild tutti-frutti hop aroma, the taste starts of sweet malts but then goes herbal bitter chalky hop paste. Quite bitter in the finish. Alright but the Cascade last month was much better balanced and enjoyable. I don’t see myself pounding these back. It did become more earthy/woodsy with a zing as it warmed which made it more enjoyable.
