Thank you kraddel! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ "Adam Chandler Visiting (for real this time)" Tasting. Golden, small lacing white head. Nose is weird soapy, cleaning product, clear whisky, it comes across a cheap discount whisky here, cleaning products, sweet, oily, plastic apples. Taste is airplane glue, weird green apple, chemical, cheap whisky, soap, sugar. Body is green apple, soap, cheap whisky. Other Belgian Owl BA beer that I have had weren’t like this. Original review text: 750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). Hazy orange, creamy white head. Nose is dominated by BE esters, sugar, soap, candy, sweet sticky, BE yeast. Taste is soap, sweet, candy, fizzy, BE esters, soap, sugar, little white, largely BE esters, soap, yeast, sugar, dull soap. Body is fizzy. Okay for the style but I expected more after the great Cognac one & hearing good things about this one. Still pretty decent for your average Tripel.

Bottle pours out a golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice bread spice pepper some barrel notes. Taste is more of the nice spice light grapes with a nice wine barrel touch.

Golden colour with thin head. Aroma has lots of sweet malts and some apricot and vanilla. Flavour is similarly sweet and also has a touch of spicy yeast. Original review text: Golden colour with fluffy head. Aroma has some malts and coriander. The flavour starts quite spicy and dry. In the finish the fruity sweetness of the wine comes through. High carbonation. Leave it to stand for a while. It’s a better drink with less carbonation.

Pours clear blonde, small white head; Smell is bit sweet, some notes of the whiskey. mild grainy, even a soft aromatic hopped touch. taste is sharp, grainy, intense whiskey-grainy sidenotes. rather bitter, but a very round, sweet-ish ending. Some booze, naturally. Still quite balanced. Original review text: 75 cl bottle. has been sitting in my fridge for 1-2 months, surprised it hasn’t been entered on ratebeer yet ? If i remember correctly, I bought it from Belgiuminabox, but not sure... Pours clear blonde, small head fades rather fast. Smell is intense, wine ( white wine ) mild bitterness, and the hidden hoppyness that is also present in the basebeer. Seems like a nice mixture of base and barrel here ! Taste is full. Mild sour-like sharpness to it, but def not a sour beer. The wine lingers trought the whole taste, without ever overpowering. The basebeer shines trough nicely. i tell you guys ( and Gall’s ) this has to be one of the most well-blended BA-beers. barrel and base get a very equal say in this ! The schuppenboer - as most will know by now - has a fine hoppyness, over a tad of bitterness, some yeast. The wine is sweet, fruity, and-as I said - mildly accidic. I’m never really big on white-wine barrel aged beers, but this for sure is better than I thought it would be. I see a lot of people enjoying this way mroe than I do, since they might be actuall fans of the white wine thing. Yet I do feel like even if not convinced - like me - about white wine, this is the one to try and see if it can change your mind. As far as quality goes, this is a top notch beer, and an example how barrel ageing should be done.

Little hazy blond beer, creamy yellowish head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, vanilla, bit of banana, floral touch, little soapy. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, some vanilla, spicy touch, lots of alcohol, whisky, ripe banana. Aftertaste: bit yeasty, banana, sweet, vanilla, some caramel, almonds. Not sure if they picked to right beer to fill this barrel.

Little hazy orange beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: orange peel, bit spicy, dusty, sweet, some banana, sweet malts. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: quite some tannins, fruity, yeast, banana, little sourish, hint of wild yeast, some brett. Aftertaste: fruity, little bitter, banana, tannins, some sour apples, bit spicy, ginger touch. Very decent!
