12 oz can from Total Wine - San Antonio. Pours a cloudy reddish-amber color with a white head and great retention. Great lacing too. Light cherry (and strawberry?) aroma. The cherry flavor is stronger than the aroma, a little on the cough drop side, and overpowers the beer flavor. I would label this a fruit beer, not a blonde ale. Slick mouthfeel, low carbonation, and low bitterness. The 8.67% ABV is well hidden, but warming. Okay.

Mostly clear ruby and red coloured body with a faint copper and bronze glow with a golden tint and a very thin, just off-white head that shows at about a centimetre tall, but fades very quickly, with only perhaps about ten per cent opacity. Aroma of very funky alcohol, malt, grass, hay, flowers and some astringent cherry liqour notes with the smallest dose of hibiscus or soured notes - very minimal. Medium-bodied; Super strong alcohol, pungent and very astringent flavour shows throughout with a lot of malt, medicine and cherry cough drop flavours with some more noticeable sweetness from all the fruits along with some funky malt and grainy notes and a touch of the tart notes at the very end, but not contributing much at all. Aftertaste is about the cough syrup, astringency, medicinal notes and pungent alcohol that is noticeable everywhere. Overall, not a very good beer with the cherries in here smelling and definitely tasting more like bad and astringent cough syrup and not like a beer or anything enjoyable in terms of additional flavours, but a gimmick that clearly didn't work out well. I'm glad I drank this now instead of aging it for any period of time, because that could have made it even worse as it lingered in the can. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Selma, Texas (The Forum, San Antonio, Texas) on 14-October-2019 for US$2,29 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-July-2020.
