Gushing to red-shot, deep-brown beer under a tan head. Aromatic, flowery aromas, followed by chocolate, both milk and bitter. Dryish stout flavours, roasted. After a few sips, there seeps in a very aromatic-spicy flavour, but I’m at a loss to name it - star anisee, coriander, allspice...? It’s definitely blending in, nowhere dominating the roasted, caramelly taste. Well-bodied, slick and warming. A stout-like ale... Martyn Connell will be getting apoplexic... It’s nice, but certainly not spectacular.

Bottled, thanks Rune! Hazy near black, lively head. Coffee and caramel up front. Mid sweet with full body and clean mouthfeel. There’s fudge and salt with some medicinal notes of lingonberry. Fairly low bitterness.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Vika, Oslo. The color was dark brown with red spots. Large, light brown head. The aroma was roasted with dark chocolate and licorice. Roasted taste with some licorice, coffee and smoke. Also some alcohol and herbs. Nice body and a bitter finish. An interesting and good beer.
