Very clear, deep amber and copper coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre to perhaps two centmetres tall tan head. Aroma of nuts, light earth, pecans and a dash of toffee and caramelised sugars. Light-bodied; Strong nutty flavour at first with a lot of English hops showing through along with a toffee and deeper grain flavour showing some herbs and light spice characteristic and a dash of pepper towards the end. Aftertaste is deep and robust with a light nutty flavour with toffee and some caramelised sugar showing through along with a lot of the very low alpha acid hop notes with no bitterness at all. Overall, a very malty and English-hop forward beer with more nuts and earth than anything else that don't show much else nor bitterness, but a good beer if that's what you are looking for. Nice to sample and if you are missing the English Pale Ale side of things, this is up your alley - which should be categorised into that style on this site, not an IPA at all. I sampled this twelve ounce stubby bottle purchased from Total Wine in San Antonio (Selma), Texas on 14-October-2019 for US$1,79 sampled in my hotel room here in Austin, Texas on 14-October-2019 just a few hours later.
