Sample glass. Deep brown porter color with a thin ring of brown foam. Smell starts out mostly cherries, then opens up that bit of chocolate, with cherry in the follow-up. In tasting, these tastes stay tantalizingly separate. It’s not a "chocolate-covered cherry beer." Extra cherry and raspberry flavor further down, even in my sampler glass. I’m sampling this during lunch, and already my lips are getting a little numb, so I don’t dare have a full goblet… for now. Even this much sampled shows some distinctive malt taste, and a beverage that it still more beer than cordial.
