Draft at the 2012 Michigan Brewer’s Guild Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Chocolate, hints of clove and banana, but lots of diacetyl that ruined the experience.

Sampler at the Livery. Medium to dark brown with aromas of figs, brown sugar and chocolate. Flavor is an interesting mix of dubbel and trippel flavors. Lovely beer.

Beer #12 at GTMW. Very deep brown, you can still see a little light through it, but the bubbles are just kind of hanging around just beneath the surface like juvenile delinquents with no place to go. Smell has Belgian malt goodness with a little bit of sourness. Taste is actually quite sour, maybe off the style, but that’s what happens when fruits get stuck in. Excellent mouthfeel. For a tripel it turns out to be an interesting sour beer.
