My first Imperial Oak beer! On draft at the Cellar Door. Obviously not one of their imperial beers. And surprisingly, I really can’t get behind this one. Smell has a bit of fruit-flavored wine to it. The beer is a bit purplish and opaque. Taste… well, it’s just sourness. I am trying to catch the blueberry in here, but the dominant taste after sour is a bit of oak foudre wood.Any fruit added to this has totally fermented out. I’m giving this points for hewing to the style, but it really lacks any extra dimension that would have made this distinctive.
