Really good dark sour! Roast, lemon, sour cherries and dark chocolate galore.

The beer is coffee black with a medium-sized light tan head. Brown at the edges. Some lacing. The aroma is toasted malt with a bit of coffee fruitiness. Lots of fruit. Plums, apricots, strawberries. Light roast. Solid dark fruit in the taste. Fairly dry. A little coffee. Very mild roast. Light medium body. Soft carbonation. Quite good for a dark saison. Just not my favorite style.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma has some light roast and toasted bread malt notes. Dark fruit character of currants, berries and plums. Light oak and acidity. Pours dark brown, but not quite black with a medium sized, moderately thick, tan head with average retention. Moderate lacing with small legs. Flavor has a medium acidity with some light roast, some medium light toasted bread and a bit of tobacco. Medium dark fruit notes. Dry finish with a bit of oak. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer with a good malt character showing through. Balanced background acidity with a bit of fruit. Still not a huge fan of dark farmhouse beers.
