On tap at the Old Coffee House, 3/10/2012. Murk brown with a small, off-white head. Big coffee notes collide with tropical fruits before a hoppy, dry finish. Didn’t work for me.

On tap at the Old Coffee House, London. Pours dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Big pine nose with a hefty roasted malt backbone. Medium sweet flavor rife with dirt, thick pine, burnt grass, dark orange and grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Heavy resinous finish with lots of dirty pine, ripe citrus, moderate roast, light baking cocoa. No abrasive bitterness, which is very nice. Well rounded black IPA.

Old Coffee House. Very hazy brown beer with a little tan head. Palate is semi dry. Trace of coffee in the malt. Nice red berry fruits and piney hops. Nicely joined up. Trace of citrus. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Dry finish. Looking back at my Camden Town Brown IPA rating - this tastes very similar. Just another day in the minefield that is Brodies Beer Taxonomy!
