Chocolate, fudge and hazelnut unite in this impressive beer, part of this brewery’s new range of craft beers. It is deliciously fudgy, rich and nutty, brimming with richness, while boasting the subtle flavours of cinnamon and Belgian chocolate. Hops used: Goldings

Bottle. Morrisons. 99p. Clear, dark red. Fizzy, noisy bubbles, that disappear almost immediately. Jesus, this stinks. It’s like somebody ate a roast beef dinner in a pool of Bisto gravy, then walloped a big fuck off bowl of chocolate mousse, on top of four pints of Coors. And then spewed the lot back up into the middle of the table. But the thing is, it tastes even worse. Horrendous, artificial, sweetener laden fucking muck. How this has an average of above 3, I don’t know.

Dark brown color with a quickly diminishing light beige head. Aroma has strong cacao notes. The flavor is the same as aroma with light sweetness and notes of hazelnut. Sweetness in the final.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark amber with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, cocoa, sweet cookies, brownies,, vanilla, sugar. Flavor is not nearly as sweet as aroma suspected, malty, chocoolate, cookies, vanilla, litle nuts. Medium body, soft carbonation, light sweet finish. Aroma although sweet is nice, flavor not so much. 120315

Bottle. Bought at a cafe/shop in Storcenter Nord, Aarhus. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Darm amber colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy aroma. Strong chocolate notes. Light bitter powerfull chocolate flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate. Way too much chocolate to be nice.

330ml bottle. Pours dark with a brief foamy head that disappeared quickly. Heavy hazelnut and coffe aroma, which is matched by the taste, which also has bitter chocolate hints and a little fruit. Quite watery, though, like a cola, which spoiled the overall experience. A shame, really

Bottle that Jim shared- cheers! Dark brown witb a negligible beige head. Should probably be rated on fumes rather than aroma- the raw alcohol coming off of this could probably be used to strip paint. Really fake chocolate dominates the taste, with maybe a bit of Tua Maria. Or, rather, the rough Happy Shopper equivalent of Tia Maria. There’s a definite taste of chocolate cake but again it’s one of those fake shop packet mixes of chocolate cake. So overall it’s too fake, too sweet, too raw and too grim. On the plus side it’s a big improvement on the orange beer in the same range that we’d had earlier.
