Coolship 2022 is a blend of spontaneously fermented barrel aged beers from different brewing seasons.
We use a traditional turbid mash schedule followed by an extended boil and wild inoculation overnight in our coolship before transferring to barrels for a lengthy fermentation. Oaky, with a pleasing acidity this beer is unique to our landscape.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from BS online. Pours clear deep honey-gold with a small, dissipating white foam head. Light sweet flavour with restrained acidity, a little citrus, salty bite, woody dryness, nips of grass. Light to medium bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Cleansing finish, dry and quenching, accents of citrus, more drying pale wood, subtle funk. Very drinkable stuff.

Spotty beige head on a vivid golden coloured body. Zesty, earthy & funky aroma. Funky, oak, dry, vinous & dry tart tastes.

Bottle. Hazed gold. Fine broken white head. Wheaty woody and slightly sour. Tart and dry and lightly sour. Decent body. Fine carbonation. Tart light acidity to finish. There’s a farty sourness to this that’s not great, but I suspect with time it might subside to give a far more clean beer.

Bottle at home from BeerHeadz, Lincoln. Reddish golden colour with a thick off white head. Aroma and taste are funky citrus and stone fruit. Slight wood. Decent tart fruit to light acidic. Crisp body.
