Handpull cask at the Townhouse, Ely. Mid-gold, almost clear. A quickly-receding ring of white head. Smells nice enough with some lemon/grapefruit notes, but there’s a hint of soap. Taste has a hint of sweetness at the start but gets messily bitter and astringent quite quickly. Long finish continues along those harsh bitter lines. Agree with maeib’s rate in 2011 that the NZ Cascade is dominant. Drinkable but not the most successful concoction.

Hazy gold beer. Tidy white head. Slight sulphur on the nose. Palate is semi dry. Mellow grapefruit hops with a touch of peach. Mild even malt underneath. Semi dry finish. Quite a tasty little beer but not getting much Nelson at all.
