Once upon a time alchemy (the process of transmuting matter) was considered a true science. Who are we to argue today? In a nod to this medieval chemistry, we made a sweet stout just for summer. The alchemy occured when whole coffee beans were added instead of traditional roast barley. The end of the experiment yielded a beer light in color that drinks just as thick and rich as any darker brew, with the lightest of hop citrus notes to complement the beans. Your eyes won't believe it, but your taste buds will!

~4 oz taster mini-goblet draft at Brew Lab in Overland Park, Kansas. The pour is a mostly clear golden with a small white head. The aroma initially ha some phenols, that clear quick, then lactic milk, tobacco leaf and roast. The taste is blend of the leaf tobacco, roast malt, milkiness and additional grass earth leaf. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a chewy milky sweet, roast finish. A bit of the tobacco in the long finish. Odd, but interesting beer.
