Mentee is a 3.5% ABV, traditional Belgian Table Beer brewed with Guava and Pomegranate. Created to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary, it was brewed using the "second runnings" from the parti-gyle technique with Mentor.
Mentee is brewed with guava and pomegranate creating a brilliant blonde body with an effervescent, dry finish. It was brewed and inspired by "Mentee" Evan Rouse.
Mentor/Mentee was born from a parti-gyle partnership between Richard Dubé and Evan Rouse that represents their individual personalities and unique brewing relationship. Parti-gyle is a two-part technique using the same mash, drawing off the first part of the mash to make a higher gravity ale, then drawing off the second runnings for a more ordinary and lighter variety called table beer.

Goblet draft at the Braxton Brewing Company in Covington, Kentucky. The pour is a hazed yellow golden with a small white head and nice lace. The aroma is fruit sweet, floral, grass and straw yeast. The taste is a nice balance of the softly sweet guava fruit, citrus, grass and the straw yeast towards the back. The palate is light bodied with soft carbonation and a floral mildly fruit sweet finish. Pomegranate is noticeable in the aftertaste. Easy drinking beer, though thinned out some as it warmed.
