1/2 liter draft at Urban Chestnut Grove Brewery & Bierhall in St. Louis, Missouri. The pour is a cloudy yellow orange with a white head that falls pretty quick. Nice lace. The aroma is herbal clove yeast, sweet malt, some esters, a bit of bubblegum. The taste is herbal clove up front, the esters of the yeast and followed by grain sweet malt finishing with more herbal. The palate is medium bodied, unfiltered mouth feel, soft carbonation and a sweetish yeasty finish. I thought the yeast expression was more German than Belgian, and I really didn’t get any hops. Interesting, though not what I was expecting for a Belgian Pale Ale.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is a sweet simple syrup with some of th e Belgian yeast and a bit of the corny adjuncts. Flavor is more of a dull lager malt with some Belgian yeast esters and not much in the way of a hop presence. This was more of a lager with some Belgian yeast added. Kind of a dull neutral flavor all around.
