22 oz bottle purchased at Martin City Pizza and Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. Purchased earlier in the year (Feb-Mar time frame). The pour is a dark black with a 1/2 inch khaki brown head. The aroma is sweet molasses with bourbon, oak barrel, and residual roast and caramel malt. Nice blending of aromas. The taste is the brown sugar molasses up front, some soy notes, the roast and the warming bourbon and barrel swirls throughout the flavor and integrates nicely. The palate is heavy to medium bodied with soft carbonation and the lingering sweet and soft bourbon booze. This is a style and treatment I normally don’t get into, though this one was nicely done and quite enjoyable due to the balance and integration of flavors.
