Bottle 50 cl. A spiced American Brown Ale? Oh dear, I fear the worst. Odd, spicy, soapy aroma. Medium body, some sweet caramel but again an odd and very out of place soapy sensation seems to dominate. A where is the American part? Pretty sloppy and has very little to do with an American Brown. 171115

Bottle. It pours an unclear brown body under a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma is nutty and roasted with light caramel and toffee. Some prunes and figs. It’s lightly roasted on the palate, with some salty licorice. Nuts, toffee and dried fruits. Medium to full body and a soft carbonation level, semi-sweet. Lasting roasted finish with nuts, licorice and dried fruits. Far from bad this one, but it’s sort of homebrew-ish. 140724

Bottle, 5.0%. The aroma seems a little spicy, ginger or aniseed, but very faintly so. Cloudy dark brown colour. Big stable tan head. The flavour does have a little ginger, but other than that not much spice. A little roasted with a medium bitterness.
