A golden double IPA with strong sweet citrus aroma and a deep resinous citrus punch with a strong backbone.

Clear, lively amber beer with a thick foamy head and a sweet, grapefruit aroma. Flavour has a fruity, citrus tang to it and a slightly biscuit-y edge to it. The finish is nicely balanced with a slight dryness to it to balance out the sweetness in the mouth of the beer. For the strength it’s too drinkable by half!

Bottle thanks to Lewis. Appearance - golden with a thin lacy head. Nose - resin, sweet citrus, probably pink grapefruit. Taste - pink grapefruit, with a creamy lemon finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long refreshing finish. Overall - quite challenging but great beer.

Cask at Westow House. It pours lightly hazy golden amber with a medium white head. The nose is sweet orange, tangerine, sherbet, candy, Tunnock’s caramel wafer and alcohol. The taste is sticky, bitter-sweet, wood, spice, resin, stewed orange and alcohol with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Chewy mouth-feel. A bit boozy if I’m honest. OK.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Pours pale amber with a thick, creamy white head. Big hop resin nose, lots of pine. Taste is a big whack of bitterness, thrashing any malt that might be there. Enjoyable, in a helluva bitter way.
