Bottle. Pours hazy amber, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is vegetal, hay, grain. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, harsh, a bit metallic, lingering vegetal. Medium body.

Bottle from Whole Foods Bowery. Been wanting to try some Port Jeff for awhile now. Pours muted cloudy orange. Nose of tropical fruit and slightly dank. Tastes of pears, citra hops, basement, caramel, earth, and some malt. Peppery and bitter finish. Carbonation is nice and this is easy bomber to put down.

Tap at the brewery - probably my least favorite here (but everything was high quality, so still not bad) - slick, slightly oily mouthfeel - lightly bready malt throughout, an earthy, whiskey note - quite buttery on the tail end, which turned me off a bit - finish is some bright American hoppiness - decent brew.

22 oz bottle purchased at Big Z Beverage in Huntington, New York. This is labeled as Port Jeff Brewing Company Schooner Pale Ale, and is marked as 6.5% abv. The pour is hazy orange copper golden with a one inch tan head that is quite lasting. There are visible particulates in the beer. The aroma is light chestnut, soft pear fruit, a bit of floral hop all on top of a nice backbone of caramel malt. The taste has quite a bit of the fruit sweetness, again its pear, with a bit of apple, then moves to floral hops, and finishes with caramel nutty maltiness. The palate is medium to light bodied, low carbonation level, and the sweetness and fruit linger a bit longer than I would have liked. Overall, an easy drinking beer.
