Jacobsen Spring Brew is the House brewery Jacobsen’s new spring beer. The Jacobsen Spring Brew is a part of a Nordic lager and beer tradition with great emphasis on ingredients from the Nordic countries. Among the ingredients is the Nordic white flower Woodruff from the areas Sunndal, Møre and Romsdal in Norway and the Slovenian hop type Styrian Golding.

Jacobsen Spring Brew has a light cobber red colour with cream-coloured foam. The aroma is distinctly hopped with a touch of grape, pine needles, caramel and jasmine.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a clear amber with a tiny, off-white head. Sweet, caramellish aroma. Rich, malty sweet body, again caramel, toffee and biscuits - perhaps a vague hint of nuts. Hardly any bitterness - so the overall impression is quite to the sweet side. But well crafted indeed. 180219

On tap. A hazy dark copper colored beer with a small, dense light head. The aroma is bready and lightly roasted malts. Toffee notes and some dried figs. It’s full bodied and soft on the palate, with a tad too much carbonation. Bread crusts, caramel and a balanced sweetness and bitterness. Lasting roasted and bready finish. In my opinion this beer suits the fall better than spring. Decent though. 150515

Clear dark amber, airy offwhite head. Malty, light hoppy aroma. Flavour starts malty with rough bitterness and then quickly becomes metallic in a quite unpleasant way. Would have been decent if wasn’t for the metal...
