Shaker pint pour at the brewpub. Pour is dark golden brown, nice off white head. Aroma of toasty slightly sweet, biscuit maltiness with decent hop bitter behind that. Taste is the nose, slight sweet, biscuit malt, hop bitterness. At the end, there is a nice burnt roasty element. Palate medium to thin, drinkable with a lot of character. Nice amber.

on tap-pours a tan head, color is brown. Aroma is grain & sweet. Taste is malty and then the hops come through boldly. This was their best beer of the batch I had, very nicely done.

Dark amber in colour with no head at all. Maltiness in the aroma with almost nothing else. A great malty flavour with a bit of sweetness and a touch of hops thrown in. Finishes with a malt bitterness. Overall, a better than average that was one of my favourites from the afternoon at the brewpub, which says quite a bit, because I usually don't like the style. I had this on tap at the brewpub in Colorado Springs, CO on 10-August-2003.
