Shaker pint at the brewpub, on cask with a sparkler. Pour is copper orange, with a bit of brown. Tons of settling, nice white head. Heads falls with tons of sticky lace. Aroma of earthy pine and resin hoppiness. Good toasted malt backbone, which is earthy also. Taste is resin chewy hoppiness. Fresh and clean bitterness. Palate medium to thin, crisp and drinkable. Satisfying lingering hop resin bitterness.

on tap-pours an offwhite head. Color is orange/gold. Aroma is grapefruit. Taste is mild hops, lightly carbonated. OK, but disappointing after the Cascade Amber.

Golden in colour with orange highlights. Light tan head from nitrogen, which lasted for at least one hour. Piney hops in the aroma with a bit of citrus. Pineapple and lemons show through in the scent as well. Piney hoppiness with a good showing of malt in the taste. Hop bitterness in the palate, and the beer finishes nice and crisp. Best of the beers at Phantom Canyon in my opinion...but also my favourite style. Overall, an above average IPA oddly enough poured from nitrogen!! I had this on tap at the brewpub in Colorado Springs, CO on 10-August-2003.
