Historic Pastry Stout with Raisins, Dried Cherries, Tamarind, Orange Zest, and Cinnamon. This beer imagines what Pastry Stout might have tasted like if it was invented in 1840! The base stout was inspired by the beers of the time with Maris Otter, Amber, Brown, and Black malts, plus Becker's Invert Caramel Syrup. Then we added the flavors of Queen Victoria's wedding cake: raisins, sultanas, dried cherries, tamarind, orange zest, and cinnamon!

Can. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was big raisins, big roasted malts, cherry, light orange, chocolate. Somewhat thin roast, malts, cherries. Sweet, but very smooth. At a DCBeer share.
