Can, thick big brown head, very deep and opaque brown colour, chocolate, vanila, brown sugar, cola, raisins, a bit of burned sugar, quite sweet but not too heavy and with a light noticable sourness, medium bodied. Nice and highly enjoyable.

Keg draught at the Holy GrAle, Durham. Very dark brown, almost black. Small ring of black head leaving loads of lacing. Caramel aroma, some treacle, touch of cinnamon. Sweet, sweet taste, molasses with notes of carameland some sweet spice lingering in the background. Slightly eggs (pastry eggs not Marstons eggy) in the aftertaste. Full body with medium carbonation. Not their best flavoured but solid and enjoyable.maybe a touchbor artifice keeps it from being great.

Can from Eltham Wines. Black pour with a beige head. Banana custard, vanilla, caramel & demerara sugar aromas. Taste is much the same with a splosh of cola easing its way into the mix. . Sweet desserty concoction with a lightly bitter linger. Initially unimpressive but improves as it goes along.

Keg @ Vocation & Co, Hebden Bridge. Near black with a small light-brown head. Somewhat sticky-sweet with a fairly regular partially sweetened aroma, its character is all in its dense textured taste, with vanilla and cinnamon dominant. Sweet, it slips down the palate very well.

Black beer thick foamy tan head. Smells.of malt and vanilla. Big vanilla hit up front with a bit of a creamy quality too giving this an actual custard vibe. Sweet too, with some warming spice and a dash of citrus. Nicely balanced, decent body. A nice, sweet, warming stout.
