Last fall we brewed a big, thick, imperial stout and aged it in bourbon barrels that were previously filled with maple syrup. Almost one year later, we have Fête Maple Barrel Aged Imperial Sweet Stout. It's decadent, rich, smooth, and slightly sweet. Perfect for special occasions and cooler fall evenings.

Thanks fonefan! Pitch black colour, small head. Aroma is liquorice, some inky tones with mild chocolate, toast and syrupy tones. Flavour is maple syrup, some liquorice, alcohol and a bit soy sauce as well as some salty and mild dried fruity and plummy tones. Hides the alcohol quite well.

Sample, thanks fonefan! Viscous black, minimal head. Aroma of maple syrup, brown sugar and chocolate liqueur. Very sweet with full body and viscous mouthfeel. Maple syrup, caramel and chocolate. Intensely warming finish.

Dark brown, thin head. Ok, on the nose it's a bit vegetal, bell pepper. Light maple, decent sugars, and a bit of dark malt. On the palate, it has more of a burnt molasses note. Different from the aroma, the green pepper disappears.

Poured from very dark brown wtih minimal beige head. Mild bourbon and maple with mild weird vegetal character. Okay.

473mL can, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out lots of woody oak, molasses, and maple. Flavour has notes of maple, boiled vegetable notes (green pepper), and medium roast. Too much boiled vegetable character. Not disastrous but clearly suboptimal.

473mL can. Pours black with small beige head. Tons of bourbon barrel and maple syrup on the nose. Flavour has bourbon barrels, maple syrup, chewy malts. Definitely on the sweet side, but not bad.
