Aged on bourbon barrels.

Klassifikation: Fatlagrad imperial stout

0.33l bottle. This is a light cloudy deep and dark ruby brown colored one with a small eventually sidesticking and almost islandy beige head that's making lots of fizzing polls noises when holding it against my ear. Almost as much as a heavy fizzing cider actually! I have to say that it smells really good this. The place where I bought it actually thought that it was expired, so they sent back three big cases, but when I'm investigating the label, it actually says that it was made the day they they thought it was expired. That had to be a little bit embarrassing... Anyway, it smells really nice this. Lots of sweet dried caramelized fruits with a strong okay and vanilla infused bourbon barreled aroma. Raisins with some booze, coffee and chocolate. Impressive stuff! In the mouth this feels surprisingly light, definitely not watery but I had expected a bit more than this. The carbonation is also surprisingly a good amount above average. The flavors however impresses just as much as the aroma. Lots of woody vanilla and bourbon going on here. As is cocoa, slightly old, still cold and softly sour coffee. Ends with a nice warming boozy aftertaste and a light roasted, dry tongue. It has all the things it needs to be a lovely blend of a barley wine and a imperial stout except for that near watery and almost fizzing mouthfeel. Still, I kinda have to admit that I enjoyed this a lot! 18.11.2013

Kjempegodt.

Temporary rating. At some point I might re-write this. Dark brown, rather small frothy fizzy mocha head, quick diss, small trace. Sweet, malty, toasted malts, vanilla fudge, sweet liquroice candy, dark choc, charred wood, tiny bourbon, cereal, hay, vanilla hard candy, tiny alcohol, Sweet, roasted malts, dark chocolate, sweetened coffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, bourbon, coconut milk, vanilla hard candy, alcohol, cereal, cookie dough, hay, Round, tiny astringent, slightly boozy, medium. Sweet, bitter, roasted malts, toffee, dark choc, charred wood, bourbon, coconut milk, alcohol, vanilla fudge, Better than the first time I tried it at the release. Has mellowed down alot. This is now a good beer but it’s far from great I’m afraid. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (2012) on 10 Dec 2013 at 22:23 - Score: 7

Light roastyness, wood and vanilla in the nose. Light vanilla and cocoa in the nose. Light bodied for this ABV. Some cocoa, vanilla, alcohol, light toasted maltyness. Very "pale" compared to the original one.

Alkoholen återkommer i smaken, tyvärr. Eldig, spritig eftersmak. Inte bra.
