Jan. ’16. On tap at the brewpub. Pitch black, with a big brown head atop. Aroma was weak, chalky yeast with plain coffee malt. Slightly bitter flavor, herbal, with moderate roasted malt share, although mostly coffee and touch of heavily toasted bread. Very thin for the style, just like the Christmas beer. I didn’t pick up any oysters, maybe better. Nor creamy nor tasty as these get, also, served too cold initially, which might have impair my impression. Expected so much more.

Draught at the brewpub.
Almost black body, with a beautiful, big, stable, very creamy, milky, lacing, dark beige head.
Aroma of coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate, dark fruits, some herbal-salty notes.
Tastes of coffee, bitter chocolate, cocoa powder, tobacco, liquorice, some wood, subtle bitter-salty notes from the oysters, I guess.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes roasty-bitter, dry, with wood, coffee, liquorice, bitter chocolate, a bit salt.

Tasty. Full, strong roasty-bitter and very creamy, with the oysters providing some unusal notes, which are well integrated though. Not on par with their previous barrel aged Imperial Stout, but another really enjoyable one nonetheless.
