The most famous ghostlike image at Hampton Court Palace is said to be the “Screaming Queen” who is believed to be Henry VIII’s fifth wife Catherine Howard. The pair were married in July 1540, however within twelve months of their marriage, rumours began circulating that she was being unfaithful to Henry VIII and as a result he had her beheaded. It is said that prior to her execution, she broke free from the guards and ran along the Haunted Gallery screaming for Henry to pardon her. She was ultimately killed and her ghost is still said to wander the Palace still screaming for mercy.

Our Californian style IPA is brewed with a combination of five US and new-world hops for a distinctive taste experience. The late dry hopping with US Cascade and Simcoe creates a taste of the tropics on the palate with a satisfying bitter twist.

[50cl bottle from Chessington Garden Centre.] A bright amber pour with a ring of white head; mellow fruity aroma with some orange; an assertive pithy bitterness from the off, with an oily orange taste; and a bitter marmalade finish. Very tasty.
