Orbit Beers’ Barrel-aged Barley Wine has been maturing in oak bourbon barrels, allowing complex flavours to round out and integrate since summer 2021. Expect a body of rich smooth caramel, intense malt flavours and a hint of nutty umami on the palate, before a delectable warming oak and vanilla finish.

Bottle shared at CBJ - sourced from Clapton Craft. Cheers! Pours clear ruby with a bubbly, off-white head. Medium sweet flavour, lightly earthy, boozy, some aged berries, dried caramel. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Hot finish, more toasted malts, dried fruits. Enjoyable stuff.

Bottle shared at the craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. A clear reddy amber green apple, sour, toffee. Airy, brown sugars, alcohol. Brandy snap sugars. Oily, nutty, tannin. Palate is semi sweet, oily, tannin, moderate carbonation.

Mild haze on this amber beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, a mild dryness, decent fine carbonation. Smooth creamy malts, soft caramel, surprised and pleased that the smooth light cappuccino vibe has survived from the base beer. Fruit cake also survives and blends well with the obvious Bourbon Barrel. Some oak induced vanilla and good juicy Bourbon Barrel ripe fruits. Smooth and mildly spicy finish. Nice, the barrelling really elevated this one.
