Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Kenny! Pours black-brown with a bubbly, tan head. Medium sweet flavour with rich burnt malts, ash, iodine, peat, dark chocolate, mellow scorched earth. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Mild boozy warmth to finish, but more peat, ash, cocoa, raisins. Sound.

Bottle shared at the rar date tasting, thanks to Kenneth, CBJ 29/02/2024.
Black with a tan cap that thins to the edge.
Nose is bitter roast, dried fruits, earthy tones, booze tunes, ashen nip.
Taste comprises mellow roast, toffee, chocolate shavings, dried fruit rinds, charr.
Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy old skool sipper.

Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly dark tan head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, mildly cake like dark chocolate. Mild dark malt cream. A rich ripe dark fruitiness underneath. Some spice and modest bitterness on the finish. A good straight up Impy. So many impies are barrel aged or pastried these days, you almost forget what a straight one tastes like!
