Deep burnished copper coloured ale in the old style of wartime Great Britain. Malty roasted flavours slowly give way to a hoppy, smooth, dry finish. Sup this reminiscent old brew, walk down memory lane and feel like you’re right there at V.E day.

3rd annual Coggleshall Grange Barn. Clear brown beer, no real head. Rich toffee malt more than balanced by tangy dried fruits and a little sweet bubblegum. Dry finish. Sounds messy but it’s pretty good. Thanks very much to the barman who shared his pint with me when the cask ran dry.
