A lightly hazed reddish copper ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, light bourbon barrel notes, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, light licorice and treacle, very nice and warming. Bottle at Cajun Café spring beer fest 2016.

Draught at Beer Mongers, Portland
Cloudy dark amber color with small head. It’s a good, warming American Barley Wine, well malty, moderately hopped, moderately sweet, with mild alcohol perception, and quite strong vanilla bourbon character.
A good sipper.

Clear amber-orange color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, citrus and malt. Full-bodied with an oaky bourbon character and flavors of caramel malt and fruit. The finish is oaky with a subtle bourbon and citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle at Craig’s. Copper pour, thin white head. Bourbon and dried fruit nose. Taste is a bit too much bourbon for me, and some alcohol burn. Not subtle. Bitter finish. OK.
