1/3pint, draught, sample tray at Foundry Brew Pub. Shared with Finn. Decent fawn-coloured head blanketing the glass, jet black body. Inviting aromas of roasted chocolate malts. Dark malt-forward flavours of chocolate, earth, and a backdrop of liquorice towards the finish. Plain roasted malty ending. Creamy mouth feel, a bit thin though. Pretty good. (Canterbury 11.02.2023).

Keg, as Canterbury Nitro Stout. Appearance is almost black, opaque, one finger creamy white head, looks really good. Aroma of dry roast, dark fruit, malts. Smooth in the mouth, roasted malt taste, short finish. Ok stout, doesn’t taste as good as it looks.

Keg at the brewery. As ’Nitro Stout’. Aroma is earthy berry, slight ashy roast and wood. Opaque black pour with a steadfast cream head. Flavour is slightly tart raspberry, choc roast, cranberry. Light acid on the tongue. Decent. Palate is medium bodied. Very smooth.
